Tax rates/thresholds for 2008/2009

Hi everyone,

I've been searching all over but can't seem to find the answer to this one!

I know they've increased the personal allowance up to £5434 but does anyone happen to know what the threshold will be for a 20% Tax Payer and a 40% Tax payer in 08/09

    It's not normally announced until the March budget.

    20% on first £34800 and 40% thereafter after Personal allowances of £6035.

    Here is a summary of the amounts announced for 09/10. I did have a more detailed table but for some reason it wont display as it should.

    PA- 0-64 years - 6475
    PAA 65-74 years - 9490
    PAE 75 years and over - 9640
    Age allowance income limit - 22900
    10% band on savings income - 0-2440
    20% Basic Rate band - 37400
    40% above 37400
    Class 1 - PAYE NIC lower earnings limit - 110/week
