Which camcorder?

Thanks to the Great Argos thread we are in the enviable position of having two camcorders to choice from. However not knowing very much about them is making it tricky ???
One is a sony dcrtrv 460e and the other a sony dcrtrv14e. We hope to be able to transfer our old VHS video tapes onto the new camera then onto the PC but are not sure the dcrtrv14e can do this.
If anyone can shed any light on which of these is the better camera all help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Are you comparing trv14 and trv460? (you have typed 406).
No experience of either camera but a quick look at spec. of trv14 on amazon.co.uk, it doesn't mention analogue input which you would need to pass video from your VCR through the camera and onto the pc.
The trv460 does have analogue input. You will probably find you can pass the video/audio from your VCR, through the camera and onto your pc, without the need to record onto a tape in the camera. I think you normally have the camera in playback mode with no tape inserted. The camera basically acts as an analogue to digital converter.
You will need lots of disk space on your pc. 1 hour of digitised video = about 13GB of data. If you have Windows XP you can use Movie Maker to "capture" the video to the pc. (there are other programs including free ones)
The trv460 also has "DV in" so if you do any video editing on your pc you can store your edited videos back onto tape in full digital quality if you want.0
