This may be of interest to some of you. Loewe are not the cheapest TV's but they are rated as being one of the best.
I have just bought a Loewe Modus 32" LCD from Aveo Home in Newbury for £649 (Normal RRP £1200), they said they had a 37" for £899 (Normal RRP £1400. The retail store is based in Newbury but I bought mine mail order.
I only bought it over the phone because my cousin had bought one in store so I felt happy over the phone.
If you are interested the company web site is:
http://www.aveohome.co.uk/
and the TV details are:
http://www.loewe-uk.com/modus_l_32_de,53751,53.html
I phoned to order mine and was charged £45 delivery to Devon so I would imagine the cost would be the same for all the UK.

Good post - always interesting to see non-mainstream brands and am currently researching (trying to justify!) a 32" LCD for the living room.
Came across this interesting Ebay item from a primate friend of yours??:

Sadly I can't find enough info or reviews on this television, when comparing to the Panasonic TX32LXD70 and the Sony KDL32D3000U - both 100hz 2nd generation type LCD's.
