Toshiba SD370E

I am looking for DivX player and found this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000OA1W8A?ie=UTF8&tag=frofthdauk-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B000OA1W8A

I was wondering if this is any good?

Or is there any other DivX player that is cheaper and works the same.

Cheers.

This DVD player is from a very good and highly rated Toshiba range.
Its got HDMI upscaling also, so good if you have an HD ready TV with HDMI input.
The only thing is you'll probably pay the same amount of money for a decent HDMI lead, as you would for the actual machine! (unless you find a cheepy somewhere).
If you're not bothered about picture quality though, you can use a scart or component cable - it will be good, but not as good as with a HDMI cable.

Good machine - especially at that price.

The Toshiba SD range of DVD players are excellent, easily the best sub-£100 players. I am still using one I bought six years ago and the picture on a standard def TV is first rate.

i have one of these and have had it a few months and the playback picture is very good (hdmi), i have also made it region free by downloading a hack from the interweb. but, there is a problem with quite a lot of these tosh players, picture freeze. every once and a while during playback, the picture freezes for about 2-3 seconds, usually at least once in a movie. after reading up on this on various forums, it is very common. if you are willing to live with this, it is a very nice peice of kit, especially for £35!!!

    I found a review in Play.com
"I thought this looked good out the box, even the menus looked better than standard dvd players. Playback was ok but not as good as the upscaling on my Xbox 360 HD Drive and it played (normal spec) Divx files, it recognized the HD type of divx but wouldnt play them.
Then I started using it properly and I started noticing the freezing, it only happens once or twice during a movie but its very noticeable and can be for several seconds at a time.
I wouldnt accept the pausing on a new budget dvd player and im afraid im returning this one, i have no idea how this got the award of 5 stars from the magazine review but they probably didnt have the time to use it properly.
Will be buying a different player, but next time i'll read the users reviews instead of the 'professionals' ."

Anyone had this problem? Freezing once in a while.

    Cheers.
