I can't believe what Visa did!

I'm currently working in Spain and now and again I make withdrawals from my Nationwide account because I can get a good exchange rate.
On Monday I made a withdrawal fro 150euro which would have meant that I would have been left with at least 200euro in the bank. I went to make another withdrawal yesterday so I could pay the bills and do the shopping. My transaction was denied by 4 different machines and then I got very worried because on screen it said my account was -1.80 overdrawn.
I immediatley rang Nationwide, very worried that someone had got hold of my account details. Nationwide told me that the reason why I was in the red was because Visa had not withdrawn 150euro from my account BUT 150euro FIFTEEN TIMES and so my account was around -2,300 euro overdrawn. The lady told me that Visa would return my money in 24-48hours. I want to make a complaint because yesterday it caused me so much distress and I was left with only enough money to get to and from work.
What should I do? Thanks

Is it worth complaining about realy?... It was an honest mistake and once the bank makes sure your money is back in the bank within 24 hours and your not charged for being overdrawn then that should be okay.
Have you got an account with a local bank? Cam, Santander...........0 -
I have an account with La Caixa which my wages go into but I also use my Nationwide account when I need to make payements over the internet, etc.
The weather is lovely, sunny and highs of 20C at midday yesterday. Never goes bellow 10C at night either.
Thankf for your advice.
P.s Nationwide doesn't charge for withdrawals abroad!0 -

And where is that going to get you?
Who are you going to complain to? Its not Nationwides fault. It may be the bank whose machine you used. It may be VISA. Do you really want to spend all that effort turning out multiple letters only to get an apology back?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Usually, i dont post comments in forums online. But what happened to me is so incredible that you have to know :
I hold an account at Barclays Bank in London and last week i did a withdrawal that i will never forget...
I am abroad in Czech Republic since 2 weeks for business reasons and last wednesday (January 16, 2008) around 2 AM , after that a purchase i did in a local shop with my debit card was declined, i accessed my account online to see that it was showing a current Balance of minus(-) £4,820 overdrawn instead of + £4,150 !!!!!!!! (almost £9000 DIFFERENCE !!!!!).
The cash withdrawal i did on the 14 of January for £550 (equivalent in local currency) has been charged to my account 17 times instead of once (all within a couple of hours or minutes during that night) !
I had to wait until 9 AM to speak to the Barclays fraud department. They explained to me that there has been a problem with VISA abroad !!!!
A credit of £8,280 was posted to my account at the beginning of the afternoon. But there is still £550 missing after 1 week !!! I called them today and they told me that VISA are aware of the situation and that i have to wait for VISA to credit my account with the missing £550 !
This is incredible - i never knew something like this could ever happen !
And i have to tell you, hopefully i dont have heart problems because that day, when i checked my account online at 2AM to see that there was £9000 missing, i was starting to stress like i never did...
One thing i know for sure is that i will be afraid to make withdrawals for life because of that.0
