If you are disciplined and won't use anymore on it, then yes that's fine.
If you aren't disciplined, which unfortunately if I were you I'd err on the side of, then no, no, don't get it!
Please look at your SOA and reduce it, particularly the socializing cost. My wife and I both went through (my wife is still in!) university, and had great times, though we lived within the means we were given (and saved up to pay our wedding!); you have to do that. Make getting a job your priority, that shouldn't be put to the bottom of the pile or it'll never get done.
£300 a month on nights out is £10 per night in a month. You can still go out on half of that and have as good of a time.
Finally, please don't say you'll have a good time now and deal with debt later. You really will regret it. I have seen so many friends fall into this trap; the problem with debt is, the later you deal with it, the more you have to deal with.0 -
I think if I transferred the majority over to the egg card I could concentrate solely on paying that off. If it's 0% till april next year I think i'd have a good chance of doing that via work in the Summer, next Christmas and a few hours during the week during term. Just curious to wether there is a catch to the Egg card or if i'm reading it completely wrong.0

There is no catch to the offer from Egg but my own debts started just this way (now check out how much I owe with nowt to show for it). Unless you have a will of iron then you are likely to rack up the credit cards again.
I am not preaching, I had a lot of fun building my debt up but I now earn a really rather good salary and have nothing left of it to enjoy for myself because of all the debt I am in and that smarts slightly.
Also remember that it might take you a while to find a job after uni and you could have to service these debts even when you genuinely have nothing.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Sorry mate you are living in dream land. My DS has just been through uni, and also like socialising/sport but has not left with anything more than one bank student overdraft of £2500 and his student loan.
First of all get a job - if you find one in a bar then you are socialising and getting paid for it. It may not fit all your social plans but needs must. Secondly, start cooking for yourself, and look for cheap meals. Spag Bol, and Beans on Toast may not be the most healthy of diets but they are cheap.
In simple mathematics you do not have £450 a month for socialising and food, so you need to cut back drastically and start earning. You show no rent, etc., so I presume your parents are paying for this. What would they say dare I ask? You will also find that you cannot afford this level of spending once you leave uni, and are working after paying all your own living expenses, so you need to contorl them now.
I am not being awful, my DS would have been told the same, and was at times if he started to lose his way.
If you go down the route of another loan and/or credit card you will be back here in 15 months with a greater problem. Grasp it now and get it under control.
