When this has happened to me I have bought the sachets of Colour Run. About 1,30 for two in Home and Bargain. You basically dissolve the sachet powder and soak the item, then I wash as normal. Always managed to rescue things before

If it is cotton or a towelling type, I would re-wash with soap and put some bleach in when the water is running through the powder drawer.
Let some water go into the machine first, then add bleach, ideally diluted in a jug, say a couple of eggcups full to a pint of water.
Make sure you rinse the drawer through with some more clean water after adding the bleach.

Oh my goodness, I was going to post an almost exact question.

My pink shirt managed to get in a dark coloured wash and has come out slightly faded. Will try the Colour Run, unless any other ideas are posted.

    Thanks.
