Now I quite like this old book smell it's lovely (but then I am a bookworm) but my hubby is threatening to make me box up my lovely collection of hardbacks collected from Readers Digest about 30 years ago that my grandma gave me when my grandad died. I love these books but I have to admit they do have a fusty book smell now.
Do any of you know any old style ways of getting rid of it? Or even ANY way of getting rid of it! I have never in my life seen a product that would do this and the only thing I can find on the internet is to use bicarb to get rid of nicotine smells from books - which isn't quite what we have got.
Any tips??

Thank you very much. Most of the remedies seem to damage the books so I am unsure. I do remember the one about Kim and Aggie putting tumble dryer sheets into the books but it can cause oil spots I remember. They aren't valuable books (i wouldn't have thought) but they are quite dear to me.0
