Hi to everyone, just to let you all know my oh and I have just got back from our trip to Amsterdam.with DFDS (valentines comp)
We had a lovely time the crossing both ways was calm (oh suffers from sea sickness, the tablets worked)so no problems.Food was ok in seven seas restaurant
eat as much as you want. much cheaper to pay for your meals before you go.
Drinks are quite expensive in the bars and restaurant, suggest that you take a little with you to have in your cabin. We took a few cans and a bottle of wine in a cool bag.
The sight seeing tour it well worth it if you have not been before -- make sure that you get on the right coach-- tell the guide that you want the tour other wise you might find your self on the coach that goes directly to the city.
The canal boat trip is very nice and they give you a little bit more of the history of Amsterdam ( buy the tickets on the ferry-- again cheaper ) Only a few euros but it all adds up!!!!
You do not get much time in the city because you have to be back on the boat by 5 pm and they do not wait for you, I believe that a couple of people nearly missed the boat because they did not get back to the coach early enough.and they had to get a taxi (very expensive)
Any way we had a lovely couple of days ----well worth it:D:D:D:D:D:cool:
Watch out make sure you know the difference between "coffee shop" and "cafe" otherwise it could be interesting.;);););););)
