Hope its OK to mention this here, but I thought you fellow mse's would like to know that you can now order online from Ikea. :j
You need to check if they order in your area using their postal code checker and you do have to pay 'a small amount' for delivery.
It also might be worth being a 'Family' member to get selected discounted products (Free application form available online).
Haven't used it yet myself but HTH....

This 'small amount' varies from £7.50 for a small item to £35 for a coffee table (maybe more, I've not tried adding anything bigger to the basket!).Do they only deliver quite locally to the shop though.
I'm about 30 miles from the nearest Ikea and they deliver to me (Nottingham store) but not sure how far out delivery goes.
ETA: This has been available for nearly a year, I remember checking our new address before we moved to see if Ikea delivered here and we moved last April."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

Was online ordering offered for nearly a year or mail order delivery? I was under the impression they'd only just started the online service. Could be wrong tho'....I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -

I'm sure it was online and I was really pleased as I don't drive (and never intend to!), until I saw their delivery charges.
I just added 2 random bunk beds to a basket and delivery came out at £35.
ETA: Found this on their site:This is for what we classify as ‘small’ deliveries: in total no more than 75kg in weight. They also have to be suitable to be transported safely by courier. The charges are: under 25kg £7.50* and between 25-75kg £15** per delivery
* Please note there are a number of items which CANNOT be sent via parcel courier, due to individual box weight, volume or fragility. In these exceptions the order is classed as 'large' and the truck rate applies. If a product has to be delivered by truck this is made clear in the checkout.
** Any individual item that weighs more than 25kg will be sent via truck with a charge of £35.

Must have been a serious coffee table I added, but it definitely came out at £35!"A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

They started this time last year allowing you to order online but it wasn't to all areas. They have been gradually expanding the areas they deliver to.0
