Any Sony PSP bargains?

Just been away with a mate, and when our flight was delayed for 4 hours (on the plane, on the tarmac, due to snow in Bristol!), I have now decided that I need a PSP to amuse me in such times.

I've had a little look around and it seems like they all cost £130, with secondhand ones on ebay only going for about £15 less!

Any bargains out there, or decent bundles with a few games?

Anyone know anything about the Sat Nav that is apparently coming out for them?

First of all, good choice! The PSP is excellent and you can do lots with it, I would recommend you get the biggest Memory stick you can afford to go in it (2gb should be a minimum) then look into getting some custom firmware on it, that then enables you to play homebrew applications like the SatNav you mentioned, they havent to my knowledge released an official Satnav program for it yet.
To use it as satnav you would need a GPRS reciever for it (not available in this country but you can get them on import) then download the MapThis homebrew app. I havent used it myself so not sure there are actually UK maps available yet.

They are great for watching films etc on too, hence you will need a good size card to put them on if you want to transfer your AVI files to your PSP

Thanks Chris, is this something I can do myself or should I buy one that has already had custom firmware installed?

4gb sony cards are only £15 on ebay.

I dont mind paying £130, but if I can get one cheaper, or if somewhere is doing a good deal I would like to know about it!

at least with Play they will be real ones.

If you buy a second hand one it may have custom firmware on it, it is something you can do yourself, if its a new PSP you buy you may have to know someone with a PSP to help you install the custom firmware via a "Pandora's battery"

I'll PM you a few pointers to get you going, if I were you I would go for a PSP on its own and get as bigger memory stick you can afford, I always use memorybits for my cards, you may find cheaper elsewhere but I've found memorybits very good and quick delivery.

I dont think you'll get a PSP a lot cheaper than £130 unless its in a duty free shop or something like that, you could try one of the online retailers and see if you can get some cashback through Quidco?

As far as memory sticks are concerned, its generally thought on most PSP forums that the Sandisk ones are faster than the Sony ones (also less likely to be faked)
