Tried 2 tabs on the dishwasher now, they don't seem to dissolve properly. Do you put it in the little draw the same as other tablets, or do you put them directly in the dishwasher?

This was the issue for us with Ecover as well, but it's only been a few months since the story broke. :) We've ordered some soap nuts from our local shop, but I've heard mixed reviews.

Soap nuts - great for colours, we use ordinary powder for whites though.

We use them for three washes, tending to save the really dirty clothes for a first wash with fresh nuts (we use them three times then bin 'em).
I usually chuck a little white vinegar or citric acid in the final rinse to neutralise the hard water and then add half the recommended amount of softener.

    Works well for us!

I had the same problem, as they are pillow shaped and not rectangular they seem to get stuck in the little draw instead of falling out and then they don't dissolve properly. After this happened twice I left one of the baskets of the cutlery holder empty and put the ecosmart thing in there and it did dissolve but I am not sure if that's what you are suppossed to do??

I only used 1 tab in my dishwasher. It goes in the flap on the door. No probs with it not dissolving or the dishes not being clean.

Ecover loses green backing over 'animal tests' on a 0.2mm flea.
Ecover stripped of Vegan Soc logo.

In my opinion I can understand the reasoning behind ecover doing this as they were doing very small scale testing to protect the wider scale aquatic life ...
