How many in your household? Is it just you and the dog?

Pet insurance? Do you go to the dentist? If it is just you then you could probably get away with £20 for holiday, but I would put £40 as you have and hide £20 else where then if the OR reduces it you still have it so to speak. Put contents insurance down as that. What sort of job do you have? Do you use dry cleaning at all? Do you use your computer for study or work?

    EDIT JUST SEEN PET INSURANCE

I put down £220 for housekeeping as a single person.
    £110 travel.
I put £60 for Christmas/Birthdays/Holiday combined and it was accepted
    £40 for clothing was allowed
    Haircuts £10 a month
They also had no problem with me putting down £30 for medical/dental
£20 dry cleaning was disputed but accepted

The important thing to remember is that whatever figure you put down you need to be able to justify it if the OR asks (which in most cases with me they didn't except for the dry cleaning)

Just thought I would point out that the the OP is moving back home so some of these figures - although based on a singles persons expenditure, will probably be a bit high when this is taken into account. I was allowed £181 as a single person, and I would (reasonably) expect a persons expenditure while at home to be a bit less.

Depends really. Travel isn't going to change just because you live at home. The OPs mum and dad may not have much money themselves so the OP may have to pay quite a bit towards the food etc.The other figures I quoted would be the same regardless of whether tey are at home or living in a flat

You'll notice I spoke specifically about housekeeping. I know for a fact that my housekeeping would be less if I was at home - its well known cooking for three costs a good deal less than cooking for one. For the same reason I think the gas and electricity payments are quite high. Same for house insurance: I would assume that the parent already have a premium; it would make sense to pay into that but £25 seems very high to insure a room. £15 a week for dog food??? Phone makes sense, and of course the travel is not going to change just because they are living at home. I am all for maximising expenditure, but not in a way that will cause the OR to think 'hang on, what's going on here'. As a note to the OP, I think you can boost your travel expenditure to at least £80 depending on which part of the country you are based in.

ive been away for a day so thanks to all who responded to this thread

Although i am moving back in with Parent, its going to be on an equal footing, my mum is on IB so me moving back in will mean that CT will need to be paid etc and she will get much less toward her mortgage (the DSS pays the intrest part of it at the mo) if anything i will be contributing more than her to the household

another couple of questions if thats ok?

Ive got myself one of these prepaid mastercard cashplus, im assuming i dont need to mention this to the OR?

Ive completley neglected to include any of my mobile phone costs in above, what the norm monthly amount allowed for that ...maybe £30?

I notice a few peopel suggest my travel is quite low, im not adverse to massaging the figures but im concerned that The OR could easily check how much a season ticket is for my Journey to work and it is £51. I dont drive so am I allowed any travel expenses for non work Journeys? supermarket etc

and finally, should i tell the Co-op that im going BR before i do or just go in afterwards, is it better to go into branch or is over phone ok?

cheers all agin for helpful replies

If you're paying your mother £350 rent, won't this affect her HB?

    she dosent get HB

only people who rent houses gert HB, she owns hers.

the DSS pay part of her mortgage , they will reduce the amount they pay to Mortgage company when i move in. I will need to make that up id think

Ive got myself one of these prepaid mastercard cashplus, im assuming i dont need to mention this to the OR? If there is nothing on it then you don't need to say anything. It's not credit.

Ive completley neglected to include any of my mobile phone costs in above, what the norm monthly amount allowed for that ...maybe £30? Seems fair to me.

I notice a few peopel suggest my travel is quite low, im not adverse to massaging the figures but im concerned that The OR could easily check how much a season ticket is for my Journey to work and it is £51. I dont drive so am I allowed any travel expenses for non work Journeys? supermarket etc If you need taxi's/buses to take you to the supermarket/Dr's etc then you need to claim a bit extra for these, they are your expenditure.

and finally, should i tell the Co-op that im going BR before i do or just go in afterwards, is it better to go into branch or is over phone ok? I would ring the co-op before you go to court and when you come back with the details. Several people have found they are less likely to freeze the account, though obviously that is not guaranteed.

cheers all agin for helpful replies

    Hope some of that helps.
