Bamix?

I am thinking of investing in a Bamix hand blender. Please can anyone tell me if the cheaper versions do as good a job as the top of the range?
Also, best/cheapest place to get one?
Many thanks
Nick

  • I must say this is one gadget where the cheap blenders seeem to do fine, but iif you want all the bells and whisltes esp ice crushing go for the real thing.

I don't know about cheapest, but were i to be forking out this much money i'd get it from lakeland. If it breaks, or just doesn't do what you expected well enough you will have no problem getting a refund.

I have one, is very good and sturdy and i expect it to last a long time.Bought it from Lakeland and the first one went wrong, they replaced it with no hastle.
If I am honest my daughter Braun Multiquick does just as good a job and is far cheaper.I bought mine after seeing a demo at the Ideal Home expo.

I disagree! My blender 'went'. At the time all our ££ was going into the kitchen extension. As a temporary measure I got a £3.95 one from a leading supermarket. The blade housing buckled the first time I used it! Food was then able to lodge above the plate.

Mines is still going strong after 9 years ! Have had no problems with it. I also bought it at an Ideal Home Exhibition.
So little money - so much time
  • Absolutely the best 'gadget' ever.

I've got one I bought on a car boot sale for £5. The seller had no idea what it was and said, her Mum had had it as a gift and stuck it in the loft as she couldn't be bothered with it. I was chuffed to bits at the bargain.

That was years ago and I recently gave it to my daughter and upgraded to a new one and bought the Slicesy to go with it. I think it's the only gadget I've ever bought which is used almost daily.

On sale here at the mo:-

I let my mind wander and it never came back!
