    This does NOT work INSTORE

    Have you tried??
  • Trust me i just know
  • Well, being that I work for the company I think my opinion might come from a better source :rotfl: ! I can not garuantee that this does work but there is occasions when this DOES WORK!! Our systems are not perfect. I am not in myself this week, however im sure some of you MSE'ers will confirm this tomorrow.

If this does turn out not the work, then I would suggest that customers print out their email confirmations and speaks to a manager. By law they do not need to honour the price, however, with the correct wording towards the manager then I can say with 100% confidence that SOME people will have the price overrided to £4.98, as it is with the managers discretion and a £5 loss is not siginicant to a store which generates over £15,000 a day.

That is if it infact does not work, which you are not sure about. Why do you feel the need to 'burst people's bubble'?

Jeez an Argos worker comes out and tells people of a glitch to rip-off the company and I get this!!! Uff im going to bed

Im just letting you know mate and trust me there has been a massive glitch on the Argos site which i and a lots of others have been taking advantage of for the last few weeks and it took them ages to sort it out.

Look here and you will see what i mean.
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3873052.htm

Just add 9 to your basket and see the price. This was the same on alot a things for home delivery. Out of stock now though.

Wasnt trying to rain on your parade and sorry i p*ssed you off.
Just trying to stop people wasting their time.
A similar thread to yours was posted a while back and i checked it out instore and it didnt work. Should of post a longer reply and explantation but i was tired.

Also on the argos website when you reserve an item there is a disclaimer that says...

When you place your reservation, you will be given a reservation number to take to the store. Prices may change on a daily basis due to special offers. The price you pay will be the price in store on the day you collect and pay for your items.

Correct! However, this is to cover Argos' back, for example 9 Wrestling Figures for £0, but with the case of Argos losing £5 in this deal and still gaining £5, I can garuantee that people will get success by showing their reservation print out to a manager.

Any1 who would like this deal i would urge them to do so, as managers can override the price at ease when it is a small amount. Defo worth a try.

About it actually not working......well i'll be trying everything I can to get it to go through when im next working lol

I was just going by experience when i said it didnt work instore and was genuinely only thinking about saving people some time and hassle.

There have been a couple of threads (links below)started on here about glitches on the argos site and it didnt seem to work instore then. Obviously i'm very happy for anyone who gets it to work.
