Clubseasons 'win' ?!?

Just got a 'winning' letter from clubseasons saying I've won a prize to the value of 3750 quid. Their website is here and I have doubts about theprize - think its one of those time-share type wins that have been posted about on here previously, so if anyone can confirm/deny this I'd appreciate it. The value of the prize is the same as the cost of m'ship to clubseasons and the number I'm supposed to ring is also the same as the m'ship enquiries number as posted on their website.
Technically, I suppose I have completed my 2008 quid in 2008 challenge, but I'm skeptical about how much of a genuine prize' this is, so any comments would be appreciated.
Btw, it was with MyOffers, if that helps - my mum was signed up to them already, so I filled in a bunch of draws for her.

Oh, and I've just on a 2 wk free gym pass for K West in London from Skoost. As I'm not in LDN anymore, if there's any LDNer on the board who want the prize 'gifting' to them (provided I can figure out how to do that) PM me about it. I'll do it on a first-come-first-served basis.Win 2008 in 2008 member number.....237!!! Won so far: £0.00

Hi Masterthief, unfortuately you are correct, its a timeshare marketing ploy. If you phone up you'll be invited to a presentation where in stead of presenting you with your prize you sit & listen to presnetations about their lovely property. also you will have to pay for flights & yearly membership, which when added together make this a very expensive prize to win. I think they still do the mini trip for £29.00 pp, but again, why should you have to pay to win a prize, & when you get there, you have more timeshare presnetations to listen to.
better luck next time. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

there was a huge thread about these. I had one and found if I took it up it was really useless. I refused by phone and email and another one came, I refused again and told them I'd refused and I'm still getting why haven't they heard from me, etc, etc. If their record keeping is that good it really gives you a sense of trust in them!"Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0 -
Most of us at sometime or other have had the clubseasons "win". A few have used it & been happy, I personally didn't, & wouldn't. also won the K West gym passes, Skoost must think we all live in London - no-one wanted mine - shame. Keep plugging away I'm sure you'll get a fabby win soon:TComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

A lot of people will say DONT BOTHER its not a prize and it isn't. If you do a search on here you will find a lot about Club Seasons.
I would say that they have had very bad press and are trying harder. I would also say that my mother has taken up their offer (for the first year at least) and has had some good holidays out of it with my sister. If you play their offer cannily and be well aware of the pitfalls you can benefit from this partifcular offer. Read up on it, there are a lot of Club Seasons threads.
When it comes to MyOffers, I wouldn;t bother, Ive never heard of anyone winning from them, its soul destroying!!!!0 -
yeah, I only entered their draws because my mum had exhausted the surveys so they were all one-click quick draw entries, so I figured it was worth a shot, and my mum was getting the spam from doin the 'surveys' anyway so that didn't matter.
kewl, thanks for the heads up guys, I'll pass that info onto my mum (and any info from threads on clubseasons) and leave the decision with her, since the 'prize' is in her name.
I always think the general rule "prizes shouldn't require you to spend any money" holds quite well as a guide to not getting scammed (unless it is a genuine hotel stay or flights and the prize really warrants paying the other side of the holiday, or similar, 'cause there's no way I could afford e.g. a trip to New York, but I could afford the flights or th hotel if the other bit was paid for, lol)
And the skoost offer still stands if anyone wants to claim it - I've had a few 'meal wins' which weren't worth posting about, but this one seems pretty good if you live in LDN.Win 2008 in 2008 member number.....237!!! Won so far: £0.00

Did a search on the Guardian but could't find it. If you have a link to the article, I'd be grateful0
