  • I joined STP earlier today, and have so far earned 96p with 83 reviews. My rating went up to two stars after I earned my 5.00 voucher, but suddenly I've lost a star - and have gone back to earning voucher points instead of real money!

This can't be because of my accuracy, because I'm over 90% accurate!

Can anyone help? Is this a glitch?

PS. I have read back, but haven't found a real answer as to WHY this happens, just that it does...

It doesn't 'just happen' - it's to do with 'the spread'

Thanks, is there anything I could do about this? I suppose giving a more extreme opinion calls for a song where one is required, so it's just luck.

It's nothing to do with what you write as a review.

"the spread" was implemented by the website to prevent people from continually rating songs in the 4-7 bracket and maintaining a high accuracy, and high payouts.

the problem is that you're essentially damned if you do and damned if you don't. if you get a stream of average songs and rate them accurately and fairly, then you'll find it impossible to get outside the 4-7 bracket, so you're penalised stars for not sticking to the spread.

however, if you rate them unfairly to try and adhere to the spread, you're then penalised accuracy and stars.

so basically there's nothing you can do about it - you just have to rate honestly and fairly and hope you get a reasonable selection of good and bad songs.

but then as i always say to the new people - if you're looking at the site as a means of making money then i'd look elsewhere. the amount of work you have to put in proportionate to the amount of money you actually make is ridiculous.

50 songs a day will get about about £2 on average - a lot less than these migrant workers who will allegedly work for £1 an hour .. (see what i did there, bit of political humour .. my name's ben elton ..thankyougoodnight!)

  • the 24/7 room is unusable at the moment because of a 0:00 song.

and rather stupidly, STP have disabled the only means of actually identifying and rating the song so it can be removed.

and the way you did that was .. unplug your internet. that's the "big" secret - you just unplugged your net connection, a review box dropped down and you could rate it and move on.

now they've decided to disable it, nobody can scout in 24/7

although i wonder if it was somewhat deliberate to force people to scout in gibson?

Me neither! I've been really slack over the last couple of weeks. Going to give it a good go tomorrow though.

Unplug your internet? That was it? Hmmm. I wouldn't have done that. Mine takes ages to reset itself. What a weird glitch!

Yup, that was it. No big secret really. Just really think it's a stupid idea to disable it since it makes their lives easier when we can identify the songs using the method.
