  • What's the point in starting a new thread? Can't people be bothered to check the exisiting threads?

Anyway, I've had my best run of scouting this afternoon for ages, have done an hour so far without the player stopping and starting like it usually does for me. It seems so much quicker at bringing up the new tracks too.

As for the new payments, well I have crept up to 4 stars and managed to maintain it for most of the hour. Why couldn't this happen with the old pay rates. lol. I must be better at reviewing metal tracks than I thought because I seem to have had about 10 in a row.

I understand it can be difficult to find answers sometimes, but this is from the STP forums

    http://www.slicethepie.com/Forum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=5768

It tells you all about calculations.

and this is from the FAQ

collapse.pngWhat is a Slicethepie Voucher Account, and what can I use the money for?

All Users on Slicethepie have a Voucher Account. This account is used to collect money from early Scouting, for Voucher credits and for any other rewards you earn on the site. A Voucher Account can only be used to invest in Artists in a Slicethepie Showcase. Unlike cash, once you have used credit to invest in an Artist you cannot move that credit Investment to another Artist and it will only be returned to your Voucher Account if your chosen Artist fails to reach their financing target.

It tells you about vouchers. both are easy to find and not hidden in 200 odd pages, yet we seem to be forever answering the same questions.

Now, that said, that doesnt mean you wont get your question answered, or that advice wont be given on things, it just gets a little frustrating.
  • I'm with you Darlo_fan. When I started doing STP which was about a year ago, I found it through reading one of the threads ( might have even been this one!), then checking it out for myself and this meant reading all the FAQs on the site. I figured that it was the only way to fully understand it and it's the same with any new venture really.

So have you worked out how mnay more reviews on average it's going to take you to pay your phone bills now Jason? Or are you just going to use the phone less? lol

Well i've re-thought things slightly and I think what i'm going to do is to do one withdrawal a month now because i think i'd much rather cover my virgin bill really. I'm paying a bit extra on top for sky sports as well, so as long as i can maintain that i'll be happy. I've also decided that for any extra left over from that point, i'm going to invest it in some artists. With any luck, the investment will be around £10 a month.

they might be repetitive to you but to some people it might be a genuine question

I'm sure it is a genuine question, but with that website, the same questions are asked and answered time and time and time again.

and what do you think I do ?

i've gone back twenty pages in this thread before to find posts i've made and to confirm answers i might have given.

i fully understand that new people sign up to the website every day and i fully understand there's a learning curve - i had to go through it as well - but when many people - i'm not saying you personally julie - when many people are using the site and think "Ah, i don't understand that .. ok .. forum .. new thread .. " without even thinking to read the FAQ or to take five to ten minutes to browse the forum, it just drives me mad.

I've seen many threads started on that forum that ask the same question that's already got a thread about it on the same page. If that's not lazy posting, i don't know what is ...

Thank you for your tips darlo_fan et al :) I was a bit disheartened by my shiny new 3rd star disappearing so quickly but I've managed to regain it :D

I seem to be doing alright and I don't often write a lot - probably 3 lines on average - I feel more satisfied if I've written 2 more productive lines though than 5 of filler. I don't imagine whoever wrote "eet waz bangin" or whatever is getting a lot back for his or her efforts :D

oh my, my STP has been locked for simply saying 'I did not like this track, the lyrics were all over the shop and the musical instruments sounded like a screechy cat'................ Hmmmmm..................????
maybe i shouldnt be so harsh???? I don't know but it has ruined my scouting tonight, and it makes me wonder whether they actually care what you honesty think... am a little bit disappointed really, maybe i didnt describe the track enough, maybe i should of put the lyrics were out of tune, and weren't in harmony with the instrumentals playing in the background, that just happened to be all over the shop??

A few people on the site have been suspended in the past - I doubt you've been suspended over a single review - it's probably a build up.

The scout room software would alert them to certain keywords and they may have picked up on one in that review and read your review history and made the decision on that.

I'd email them for an explanation, and be prepared to apologise if need be - you should be allowed back on in a day or two.
