New shiny slice the pie thread

i'm about 196th or something at the moment, but then i can honestly say i'm fairly settled as a 3 star scout now. Anything above that is a bonus really - i have my daily target which i can hit fairly easily so it's all good.

Heard a great drum and bass track earlier on called "Bring Change" by "Shapeshifter".

Gave it a 10 .. only lost about half a percent accuracy actually but wouldn't have cared either way. it was brilliant.

I'm aiming at trying to stay 3 star, and if I can get to 4 star occasionally then its all good, I dont bother with the spread and take as I find it, have been lucky so far I guess

i think that's the way to go because i think it increases the enjoyment of the thing overall really - you concentrate more on the music than chasing ratings and stars.

the hip hop and rap stuff on there does grind a bit though - i love hip hop and have done for years, but some of the stuff in the scout room just sounds like it's been done out of a book "hip hop for idiots, in 3 easy steps"

LOL, you have no idea how much that could apply to me, I have loved hip hop for a long old time, about 1987 I think when I saw Public Enemy support the Beastie Boys

As for your comments about Hip hop for idiots, I've forgotten the amount of times I have asked an artist for his copy of hip hop for dummies so I can have a go

I might have to do that

I did hear one earlier though that just immediately made me think of a group of hoodies thinking they could rap - the lyrics were vile, and that's coming from someone who is impossible to offend.

I'm the same. I've been on 3 stars for months, with the odd 4 star track (only usually 1 though lol) popping up now and again. I was mortified a while ago when I dropped to 2 stars twice this afternoon,managed to get back to 3 after 1 track each time, but I think that was because

a) I have had loads of gangster rap tracks that I find really hard to rate as I find most of them pretty offensive

b) Anyone who reads this thread regularly will know that I have trouble with the player stopping and starting about 4 or 5 times a track so it's really hard to enjoy the track properly (the only time it runs smoothly is between 7am and 8am before I go to work so I most of my daily scouting done then - although it's more like 7.30 by the time I actually start!)

c) I was thinking too hard on using the spread, so maybe didn't rate exactly what I normally would do.

I am going to stick to rating what I think regardless of the spread and hopefully I will stay on 3 stars, I would rather have that than hopping up to 4 stars and down to 2 stars all the time.

Edit this morning...... And this is how it ended up... i was ranging my reviews i was using highs and lows but it just dropped and dropped me... i even went down to 1 star at one point

Had a pretty good run yesterday (Tuesday) havent done any tongight, logged on to do some but something came up, and some how am 25th
