I've been an STP addict for the last couple of weeks but yesterday and today everytime I go in it tells me there are no tracks in the scout room for me to review, my husband is having no problems at all so why is this? are they just trying to stop me reviewing any more cos I've got more stars than him?

The pennys rack up pretty quickly. I took me ages to get to 2 stars, but it makes so much difference. To get to3 do I just have be detailed and accurate?

How many reviews do you have to do to get more stars?

What does it mean when they say accuracy? Accurate to what as everyone will have a different opinion? If only 2 people out of 10 rate a track below 5 it doesn't mean there less acurate, just that they have a different opinion.
Most of what I've heard I don't like so it's hard to rate them above 6. It's mostly been tracks with more of a rock slant.

To eventually move up to 12p a track, is it to do with accuracy of my ratings or how many tracks I rate?

How long does a scout room stay open for?

How much can you earn each month? And yes I know its it's to do with how long your on the computer for, but you know what I mean?

If I only earned £4.00 one month does it carry over to the next month?
I did my first reviews yesterday so still learning.

Be greatful for all answers to help a newbie. I'm doing this to get some money to pay my holiday off in November. Need as much money as possible after being made redundant and getting the worst ever payout in the world (Under £300! I can survive on that!!!!!!!!!!).

    Thanks :D
  • Hi there

I have reviewed 1200 songs now and am still on two stars as my accuracy is only 86%. I emailed them and they said I need to get my accuracy up in order to get my 3rd star.

    *sighs*

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

It's more to do with accuracy than volume so i'm told. I was told of a ballpark figure of 1,500 to get to a 4 star rating, but that also needs an accuracy of 90% or more apparently.

You're quite right about differing opinions, but to the best of my knowledge the accuracy ratings are calculated on how close you are to other people's rating of the track.

Reading the forum, people refer to some reviewers as "star !!!!!s", where they constantly rate tracks 4-5-6 out of ten because they know the majority will rate the same, so their accuracy goes up.

As well as accuracy, the review is taken into account as well. They allegedly read every single review on the site, which I can't really see. But it's also automatically looking for music-related keywords as well. So if you write 2 or 3 lines and include keywords like "song" and "lyrics", then that will count towards your overall star rating increasing.

well i have 2 stars at the moment, so earn 5p per song. I've calculated that if i spend 2 hours a day reviewing 60 songs in that time, then i'll earn £3 a day. But there are a limited number of songs in each scouting room though - bear this in mind - so for the 1,110 songs that are in there in september, I could earn £55 quid in total if i reviewed every single song in the room.

that's assuming i don't move up to 3 or more stars anytime soon as well.

Your account will keep building up and up until you withdraw it. All of the withdrawals are done through paypal, so you do need a paypal account.

I'm looking at using the site to cover my virgin bill on a month to month basis as a minimum, then anything on top of that i'll see how it goes.
  • Im up to 2 stars at 60 reviews but it is slow going!
Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T
  • i just joined last night. I dont know what to say in my reviews of the track. Is there anywhere with examples of a good review and a bad one?

There's an FAQ on the site that can help you, but if you're having trouble think of it as a friend asking you if you've heard the latest song by so-and-so and you say "yeah, i have" and she says "what do you think?".

You could say "yeah, it's ok. It's a good song and quite catchy, but not something i'd dance to or listen to that often".

    Something like that :)
  • thanks, see thats the kind of reveiws i thought they didnt want because on the forum on there they go on about the kind of insturments used, the beat, the rythmn etc which is what worried me about what to say
