Wow becky004 you've earnt yourself some pennies there. Do you withdraw when you get to the fiver or do you let it mount up? I'm stillunsure when I should withdraw I did three withdrawls last week and am ready for another and don' know wether to let it build up for a couple of days or grab the cash now.

I got a reply already heh, theyre fast!!!
This what they said to me...

    Hi Rachel,
Thanks for the email. Sounds like you've been busy reviewing!!
Scout star ratings are based on quality, quantity, accuracy and length of review, in order to progress you must meet all these criteria.
I can see that some of your earlier reviews were too short, so if you continue to maintain the length that they currently are, you should progress soon. I hope this helps, you could also read our guide to scouting here, which explains star ratings in more depth: http://www.slicethepie.com/tutorials/guides/Scouting_Guide.pdf

What kind of length are you doing now Rachel?
I normally do between 3-5 (max).

If you get a track you don't like, like a rap song do you review it or leave it?
I hate those rap song that have swearing & don't know if i should say i don't like the swearing or just ignore that track

    morning all!!

see how the scouting goes today,

Daisy, i just tend to review them, thinking if i get them over and done with i've less chance of getting them again! Just always try and find something positive to say, even if it's just the tempo is good. Could always say by using so much swearing they are cutting themselves off from the audience, if it was to get airplay they would al get blanked out so would anyone have any idea what the track was about? shame them! lol

  • Delurking and posting (I'm scared...please be nice!). Been reading the boards for years, but seriously getting into trying to earn a few pounds as day as does it ever mount up!

Is anyone else getting errors mid-track a lot at the moment? I was particularly upset when I got this in the middle of something I really, really liked (and was about to tip!), and now I'll never even know who it was!

I did not know you could leave a track. I rate them all. But here's what sort of thing I'd say in your situation...

1> Say what you think of the instrumentals and vocals without thinking of the genre or lyrics too much.
    2. Think of the genre and what sort of music its fans like and how the song fits in with it.
    3. Then add your own opinion.

So, this is a made up review but it's an example based on someone who hates rap songs with swearing.

    Score: 5

The instrumentals are really fresh and imaginative and the backing vocallists who help with the chorus clearly sing well. I can see this fitting in well with fans of rap music, and the song reminds me of Jay-Z who I know is an artist many rappers aspire to. On a personal level, I find the swearing excessive and offensive, and although I would not choose to listen to this sort of song anyway, I feel it could be toned down a little.
