hi, i remember reading on this thread ages ago about roughly how many tracks you had to review before moving up a star level, was wondering if anyone could help me out with this?

    hiya

well it's not absolute fact but I think the earliest people have got 2 stars is 30, 3 stars is 100 and username above suggested 1500 for the forth, but that seems like a steep leap so I don't know whether that's the earliest possible. I'm only on about 300 reviews so if its true then I won't be getting my fourth for a while. Obviously your accuracy and writing content/length will impact it too!

    hope that helps

I recall Miss Pixie being one of the first to get her 4th star:T, and I think it was around the 1000 mark. Having said that, they may have moved the goal posts what with all the new StPers joining...

    So to summarise:confused:

I've done over 1300 tracks, but my average is about 87.28%. I think you need to be over 90% to deserve a 4th star... If I get over 90% I'll let you all know!:D

Ive reviews 1477 and im still on two stars!! However I don thtink the accuracy thing should be a part of it as I rate artists how they truely deserve to be, not between 4-7 just to get my next star! Otherwise its pointless no?

I totally, TOTALLY agree. It's a fine line for me, personally, as I like hearing new music, like being able to give feedback, but it's also nice to be paid a decent amount for it.
I tend to rate naturally between 3-7, and if something's stonkingly good, I'll rate it higher, and often tip it. If I like it enough, I'll even buy shares in the album.:o Not very MSE I guess.
Of course if it's a cover or appallingly rubbish, I will rate it lower.
I think what I've had to learn is not to rate to extremes. When I started I was a bit '10' and '1' happy! :rotfl:

I'm the same, currently at just under 91% however that takes a hit when I have a run of trash, then takes a long old age to build up again. I have rated several 2's, one 10, and several 8/9s so I guess I am quite fortunate my accuracy is actually as high as it is.

Think my accuracy is about 83%, so not brilliant, but I have explained as to why.
They should find another way, other than accuracy, to judge us on what star to give.
