You can do it through Facebook if you have a Facebook profile. If you're having problems going up in stars, you can try leaving slightly longer feedback. If it's an issue with accuracy, try being very slightly more generous. If you're in the dance/electro room and it's not your favourite genre, try to overcome this and start thinking about what reasonable averages of scores will be. I have to say that there is a lot of bad stuff in this particular room though....!

I've been trying my best and at first got some decent tracks but my accuracy has taken a hit on this room.

Andy - If you want to find out your accuracy you need to add the SlicethePie Application to Facebook.
  • What are people's star ratings?

I have 2 stars for 246 reviews and an average rating of 5.3.

I think I would feel better about this room if I could manage to reach 3 stars!!!
  • well
my reviews must be terrible cause im on track 300 and still have 1 star:rolleyes:
running out of things to say as so far I have only heard 1-2 decent songs tonight.
some songs are utter rubbish, hard to think of good or encouraging things to say when they are that bad:o

    Hi ScottDiva,

I'm not trying to make you feel bad but I got my 2nd star at review 34. Yes, I felt chuffed at this (so it is a little boast, but not at your expense) but I was extremely surprised because I'd thought I'd need at least 50. What it shows us is that the system is defo individualised and our work (cos that's what it is) is taken on its merit. Now I'm no super muso journo, but here's what I think helped me.
    1. I quite enjoy listening to the music and I do pay it a lot of attention

    2. I'm such a bossy boots that I love giving my opinion. Being paid to give whoever cares MY take is like a dream come true!!!

    3. I've basically taken a leaf out of the other posters' books on this (especially the rocktasctic Miss Pixie TO whom I owe my own interest in STP) and given longer than necessary reviews. Not huge. 5-8 sentences. I manage this by thinking of 2 general comments to make and then 3 specifics to comment on, like lyrics, rhythm, and instruments. I regularly make comparisons to anything at all that seems relevant and I always make suggestions or recommendations.

    4. Even if the music is s***e there's always something you can say that's positive. If it were me I'd want advice, even if it was just 'don't give up the day job' .I remember the rules which is don't comment on music you hate (like the current electro rubbish which is all that was open when I joined.) So I just get into a neutral frrame of mind, put my own taste to one side and think: Does it work? On any level?

    5. I remember I'm in it for the money, not the glory and I would rather be paid 5 or 7 p per comment than 3!!! I figure if i give good value for money (I'm guessing the artists pay to be reviewed) then my own value gets increased and every one's a winner.

    6. I am honest, though, and I do make some nasty, even sarky, comments so you don't have to be saccharine sweet to get your stars.

    7. Check out the forum on STP for reviewers who are far more successful than me, I know i've only been on it 24 hours!!!

Hope this helps. Would love to hear from others when I might expect that 3rd star!!!

Scottish Diva - I'm in the same boat as you. I've done over 300 and i'm still a 2 star. To start with I never bothered about my accuracy but i've now got the Facebook application and i'm sitting at 85% at the moment.

I recommend doing what Sinderella has posted as its what I did to boost my accuracy. Stick with it and hopefully we will both get our third star.

Anyone found any good/bad artists in this arena yet?

Ariel - Little Miss Hyperactive is quite good, but i've just had the most awful pile of noise by 'Eftos' called 'Kill your parents - surely a title like that is not allowed?
