Free M&S £5 Voucher for Oxfam Donation (can only be applied to spend over £35)

Wasn't quite sure which forum to post this in as it's free but then you do then have to spend to benefit! (please feel free to move to a correct forum if this isn't it)
Read in the paper today that from 28th Jan for a one month period when you donate clothes to Oxfam stores you'll recieve a £5 M&S voucher which is valid for purchases of clothing, homeware or beauty purchases as long as you spend over £35. I don't know the small-print but suspect you'll only be able to use one voucher per transaction?
Nevertheless a warm feeling plus £5 - can't be bad;)

    Good offer. :)

It does state that at least one item has to be from M&S though. Does that mean the staff at Oxfam will have to go rummaging through your cast-offs to check! :o
One voucher will be provided in return for donations containing at least one piece of M&S labelled clothing or a handbag, pair of shoes, belt, hat, pair of gloves or scarf.

Include an old pair of M&S pants (wearing a balaclava when dropping off your donation is optional in this instance):rotfl:
  • See: https://www.oxfam.org.uk/donate/shops/marksandspencer.html
or the Press release on the Oxfam or M&S site for more details.

The small print says : "Vouchers not issued for M&S intimate apparel (such as lingerie, underwear and swimwear), hosiery and socks that are donated to Oxfam."

Vouchers valid for one month, 1 voucher per transaction over £35 in general merchandise (ie not food).

So its not a great moneysaver but designed to encourage recycling.
If you are about to spend over £35 in M&S - find nearest charity shop, buy 99p M&S item, go down the street to Oxfam , donate item, collect voucher, return to M&S and save £4.01 :o

Trust an MSE member to spot a loophole! :rotfl:

I've got some old baby clothes from M&S that I could donate anyway! :D Ingenious tip though. ;)

I hope M&S have 'paid' for this and not Oxfam.

This is all done by Marks at no cost to Oxfam. Its only one voucher per person per visit even if you take ten Marks items in-so only take things in one at a time-leave shop return and you can claim another in theory!
:j this money saving is such fun:T
