Moorcroft can't ask you to pay £462, if the debt is only for £195. Your query on Smiths, if you offer a reasonable payment agreement they CANNOT refuse you, if they took you to court the Judge would see that you were willing to pay what you could afford. Just one question, how old is your debts?Like good food and drink?

If I'm right, and if the OP has acknowledge the debts - asking this question may not bear fruits - by acknowledging the debt it technically reopens the debt to the date of the last communication - so the 6 year statute bar ruling will not apply. thx for that, the last statement had from o2 was in Sept 07 for the £195, thats why was gonna ask for a statement listin charges etc (not sent letter yet!!)
for the smiths one i dispute the debt totally as i had tried to cancel the account, still have e-mail, so not willing to pay anything unless i really have to!!
