Any Argos workers here please?

Hi all,
There is an item (076/4432) I've been trying to get and it's not in any store in London. I've found stock in 1 store each in Manchester, Worcester, and Buckinghamshire
.
Is there any way that if I phoned these stores and paid over the phone for the toys and postage they would send them? The items are not available for home delivery, and I've been checking for a couple of weeks, and requested emails / texts when back in stock but to no avail.
Do you know if this is possible? Are there any other options?
Many thanks

I read on a different site about someone in the same position as you and when she rang to ask if it was possible to tranfer an item from a different store they did it for her. I dont know if this is normal practise but if you dont ask you dont get, so give it ago.
Perhap ring your local and tell them where it is in stock and whether they could organise a tranfer, if you get no joy with them try the stores where it is in stock. You may come across a nice person who will organise it for you.
Good Luck0 -
i work there and as the above poster said it really is pot luck, our store tends to bend over backwards for nice customers but alot dont so you will just have to ask

Also work for Argos. Depends on basically a few things:
1. If the item is likely to ever come back in stock i.e if it has been discontinued (ro).
2. If they use the same Distribution Centre as your local store.
3. And possibly the reason you need it badly.
The reason all of these are taken into consideration is because your local store would have to ask the stores which have it in stock to 'do them a favour'.
Speak to the STOCK MANAGER and explain the situation and ask if he could arrange for the transfer. Try ask at a very quiet time though as managers do not have alot of free time to set up these transfers. This is only done on a case by case process as it involves loading the item up in a cage. Putting it on a truck with necessary paperwork and then it need to be processed on our systems. Sent to the DC, unloaded, and then reloaded with your stores next delivery. Once at your local store it need to be accepted into the system and you would then be rung. And when you consider that an average store sells 400-600 units a day, you might agree that losing 1 unit to them might not be so important to their 'figures'.
Thats bascially the procedure in a nutshell.
It is at the stock manager or store mangers discretion to agree to this.
Almost all managers at the store with the stock you need would agree to this. The people you need to set this up however, is the stock manager and store manager of your local Argos, as this is where it will be delivered to for you then to pick-up and pay. Just ask very politely and say that you understand it might take some time (usualy within a week).
Payment over the phone can not be processed on our tills.0 -
Thanks very much for your replies.
I'll phone my local argos early tomorrow (I think I read that half an hour before opening time is good?) and ask the manager as suggested.
I'll let you know how I get on :j0 -
Shepton Mallet also has them ,,,, fingerscrossed they will transfer them for you."Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"0
