Hi there

firstly i wanted to say thank you to martin for his email reply and to give his permission for me to write about this here.

basically i am starting a new web based forum to help people look for things on the web, you may think that whats the point of that , well to me i have spent sometimes weeks trying to resolve a problem or look up a particular piece of information. i wanted to have a place where people could come and find information instantly and freely.

the reason i emailed Martin was i would like the site to be free and i have to other people helping me (both do not get paid) and i wanted suggestions on how i could get some sort of income from it to basically cover costs. I realise that if this takes of i will spend alot of my time searching the web.

So if anyone has any ideas and links i would be most grateful. ;D

Both Google & Amazon will pay you for allowing them to advertise on your site.
It works by the number of hits they receive.

Also you could ask Fred to post it on his Langerlist. No income directly I'm afraid but you'll get a lot of hits.

Hi thx for your response i have looked at google adsense and i am thinking at possibly placing them on the site....

in the last month i have had zero hits and not one search engine has indexed me...lol...so i was hoping you could direct me to fred and his langerlist..sry i have not heard of this b4...

thx again for your help..sry i has been a long time replying but i havnt been able to get on as often as i would have liked

Hi,
I run several websites which get indexed every 48 hours by google, if you give me your web address i will link my sites to you, that way you should be listed on Google pretty soon.
Try overture.com they are great value and operate the sponsored listings for Yahoo.
