I was always under the impression that employers cannot rehire for the same role for 6 months after it has been made redundant.
Is this not actually correct?
There is no rule. Imagine a factory losing money because they don't have enough orders. They go through a full redundancy process that takes months. They dismiss half the workforce, giving them their one month's notice. The day after their contracts are terminated, the factory wins a large contract. Therefore, the week after all the redundant staff have left, the factory re-advertises all their jobs.
