• Well done Mooloo on the baby nightdress, it really is quite gorgeous:T. Also well done to Witchwoopiggy on your skirt, looks great.:j
Sadly I haven't yet had a chance to get cracking with my sewing projects, as life has been a bit hectic. However with all advise from Rikki etc., I still have high hopes of getting my projects underway in the near future!!

Thankyou ChequeredFlag, now I just need a home for it!
I found some lovely curtains that have been lined, padded in a way, so I plan to turn them into a moses basket set. But BF has reminded me I need to make things that I can sell, not things for the family as I really do need the money. So the moses basket may have to wait till a bit nearer the due date of the next grandchild.!

If you are having trouble getting started, is it because you have to set up the sewing machine each time?
I never sewed in the last two houses, as I ddnt have an area where I could leave the machine. Once I could leave the machine up, my poping on it between other tasks was a lot easier.! Then the odd 20 minutes here and there became more/ and is more an more becoming productive.
But I have a long way to go yet.!:D

Today, I made a handbag out of a cushion cover and some fabric I had in the cupboard. burgandybag.jpg
Am quite pleased with it. I think it came out much better then I was expecting it too.! Even have enough Fabric to make another one!. So tomorrow that may be the first job. To cut one out.
I know its not clothing, but it gets me back in the swing of sewing on a regular basis, and then I will feel up to trying to make myself clothes again soon. I have an idea for a skirt and jacket. But want to get my measurements sorted out as I have been a bit bloated lately. Want to see if I stabilize before I start to make things, as I dont want to make something and then continue to have the problems with water retention. (And it is water retention, not fat!). I am still slim overall. It is a side effect of the gabapentin.
Right I am tired now so I am going to start to clear up, and lock up.

• Mooloo,
The bag is lovely, please can I have one???? Also love the baby nightdress, you are being very productive at the moment.

You're right - the sewing machine needs to be set up and ready to go otherwise it's far too easy to make an excuse not to bother.....

Keep up the good work!

Was in the nearest town this morning with my eldest daughter and we walked passed an interior design place, and I said I wonder what they do with thier samples when they are finished, and she said lets go and ask, and we came out with two sample books of fabric, to be able to make bazaar makes/cusions and the like.
So just ask people and you never know what you might get.!!

Found a new magazine aimed at the sewing fraternity. Very few usually about. Its called SEW, stitch your style today. Has a free dress pattern with 4 views to make. Its £5.99 for the magazine, so I thought a bit of a price, but with the pattern included its not a bad buy. Definitely going to try and make myself the dress. There are babyshoes and quite a lot of other things in it, (Not read it all yet). But Had never heard of it before. Apparantly this is issue 3. Wonder if I can get back orders of it? Mind you I cant afford to do it this week as I have spent my surplus cash. (The money for the 4 cravats has finally come in.!!)
Off to have my dinner, x

Mooloo, keep an eye on ebay there will be copies of Sew for sale it's also worth looking at Sew Hip from the US as they often have good patterns and are often cheap on ebay. I'm enjoying reading how you are getting your sewing mojo back.

I have so many ideas and things spinning in my head. I am hoping to be able to sort out several other things as soon as possible so that I can get to the machines on a more regular basis.
Its amazing what I have unearthed, and a few things that have been sent to me, or given to me, to challenge me to turn into something else.
Tonight I am just going to rest as I hve had a hectic day, and have a hectic day tomorrow. But I have the zip now for the nxt Jeans bag, so I can then finish that, and I have a couple of handbags and baby clothes that people are interested in me making for them.So if they follow through, perhaps Mooloo can really become a small hobby business!.
