Electric toothbrush price error?

In the half price sale brochure I noticed a Philips sonicare elite HX7351/02 rechargeable toothbrush was half priced at £34.99 which I bought today.
When I got it home I noticed I was given a Advance model instead.
After checking the Argos website it appears the sale brochure description is of the sonicare elite at £34.99 but the picture and cat no is the advance model.
The elite model real price should be £65.40 if I take the advance model back I am within my rights to ask for the elite model at the price I paid which would save me £30.41?

Bearing in mind I have not seen the brochure and its description but essentially if they have described the Elite and supplied a lesser model then you would be justified in making your request and under trading standards legislation they would be obliged to make the replacement the picture doesn't really matter as the features they describe would be unlikely to match the lesser model and you cannot be disadvantaged by misleading advertising.

Given the circumstances you describe it is certainly something I would be prepared to debate with any manager but like I said you have the brochure and the offending item and are best placed to make that judgement.

I would stick with the one you have got i had this model for years and then purchased the elite which i didn't reckon much too! Thought it would be better as it got a better shaped brush but really thought it wasn't as good as the advance so took it back and got another advance!!

Helen 21 passed your comments onto my wife but she decided she wanted the elite model.

Went back to my local Argos the manager checked on the telephone the sale brochure description was of the elite model and gave me a choice of a full refund or I could have the elite model at the same price so I took the elite model and saved myself £30.41.

The staff were very polite, had no trouble at all they even said when sale brochures come out pricing mistakes happen all the time so keep your eyes peeled.

    Thanks for the info.
