Arrrggghhh. I don't like the sound of this:
"When using compatible cartridges in a printer for the first time, it is necessary to change the whole set (i.e. all 4 cartridges). Once the whole set has been changed and used, you can then replace cartridges individually without having to change the whole set (applies to models manufactured after March 2007 only)."
I rarely use colour, so only need black. Does anyone know a way around this problem, or will i just have to buy the expensive official cartridges?Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
What model of printer do you have? And do you know when it was made?0

Go to Quidco, sign up then type in inkclub.
£9 back via quidco for first order and some epson cartridges are free with your fiirst order but you need to stump up £3 for postage.
If you need some for an Epson 740/760 pm me...Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -

I'm guessing this is an Epson printer you have. They have a chip on each of the cartridges which can detect whether a cartridge is genuine or not. Many of the compatible brands therefore won't work in the printer if there is a genuine cartridge in there too.
However, some of the compatible brands have found a way round this, by changing the firmware on their chips. I know JetTec have managed to do this, as their cartridges can be used alongside genuine ones. Sorry but I don't know which of the other brands are able to be used in this way, but if the site you are looking at has the above on it, I would lay good odds the brand they are offering has not.0 -
Hi. Does anyone have any personal recommendations where i can buy cheap ink cartridges (black ones for Epson) and also CDR's, DVD-R's etc.
High street or on-line. Thanks.
i usually buy mines on www.cartridges.net :rotfl:0 -
I have always used https://www.nd-ink.co.uk for ink, one of the cheapest and good customer service. The Pro Jet cartridges they sell are very good. They also do blank discs as well.
jockeyCompatible ink cartridges from 87p each here0
