Free "Coinstar" Machines in Banks

I believe some Banks, HSBC, Barclays, Nationwide (and others) have free coinstar type machines to pay change directly into you Bank acounts. Is anyone aware of any of these in The Teesside Area (stockton, Middlesbrough etc). I have been onto the Banks own website but can't see any mention of these. Thanks

  • Haven't heard of any of these, but can't see how they would be free as Coinstar take a percentage of whatever you put in change ways, well at least the one in our local supermarket does. It is something like 7 1/2 % of what you put in.

    Why practice!:T
  • Coinstar machines in the UK have processed more than £500 million in change, in approximately 22 million transactions - 7.5% of that is a lot of money. I cannot see the banks doing this for free when they could make money - or thou if they do then I may have to pay a visit.
