Safeguard Your Possessions With Immobilise
Immobilise is the home of the UK National Property Register and Recovery Service. It is trusted by over 17 million UK subscribers who have registered over 22 million items of property. It is also endorsed by all 43 UK Police forces who search it via The NMPR and by the UK Second Hand Trade who search it via CheckMEND.
Immobilise is checked over 500,000 times a month and identifies the ownership of thousands of items of stolen and lost property making it the system most likely to return your possessions.
In the event of loss or theft registration also assists in providing the information to complete accurate crime and insurance reports.
To register choose an item, complete the form and open an account, you can then add additional items, photos and certificates of keepership - all for FREE.

MORE ABOUT IMMOBILISE

Registering your property on The Immobilise National Property Register and Recovery Service gives you the ability to access the information you may need in the future to complete crime and insurance reports. This speeds up the insurance process and hugely increases the chances of recovery of your property.
The system is checked over 500,000 times a month making it the largest and most checked system of its type, which greatly increases your chances of recovery. The Police check Immobilise via their own internal integrated system called the NMPR rather than via the Immobilise web site making it quick and easy for them to access the information.
Uniqely members of Immobilise can place additional information directly on the NMPR from their account if they have an item stolen or lost. This can include details of the loss or theft, additional contact information and photos of the missing items.
They can also report theft to the UK National Second Hand Trade Stolen Property Register called CheckMEND which is searched over 20,000 times a day by the trade and the public.
Notification to this system makes it harder for a thief to dispose of stolen goods and increases the chances of them being identified. It also leads to a huge number of items being identified as stolen and being returned to their owner.

..to rehash an old thread, but...

does anyone know of any schemes to subsidise the cost of the security stickers for this service, they seem massively overpriced, it's a shameas the scheme is such a nifty idea?

I know you dont NEED the stickers to register your devices but I'd feel better having them on.

  • Just a word of warning.

I registered on the above site, and within a week I had a call off the police saying someone had reported a phone stolen which matched my IMEI number, make and model of my phone

They were from Birmingham and I'm up North. I've had to take details of my contract to my local police station prove it's my phone.

Bit of a coincidence? I've reported the site to the police and my phone provider as I think something dodgy is going on

Hi Geordie ben. Sorry to hear about your phone. I heard about this site a few weeks ago from a daytime episode of Crimewatch. The police on the programme were recommending the site! I've registered my phone etc on it and had no problems, but would be interested to hear what response you get from the police.
  • Just to post my two cents....

I signed up for this after a work colleagues house was broken into a few years back. I listed nearly every fairly expensive piece of electronics I own.

A couple of years back we got burgled and nearly everything I posted on immobilise was stolen, yet some expensive stuff was left which was not on the site, such as my Xbox 360, which would have been in plain sight.

It may be me being paranoid, but it seemed like a strange coincidence.

Online you can report things as stolen, but nothing has ever been recovered
