Small table with fold away legs for my lap

I have been searching for a table with fold away legs that I can have on my lap I trawled through the 'net and found the cheapest was about £25-26 delivered. It seems a little dear to me.I preferred one with legs as opposed to an ordinary lap tray as I thought it may be a bit more stable. I spend a lot of time at the moment in my relaxer chair as I am having chemo, and I like to do decoupage (crafting) and sitting at the dining room table makes my back ache.Any ideas where I may buy one a bit more reasonably.

I remember seeing some in Dunelm Mill a few months back, might be worth a try?

*Can't see any on their website at the minute though
  • Hi JackieO

I think I got exactly what you are describing from Morrisons last year and they were 2 for £15, or 1 for £9.99. When sat at a chair, the table is high enough to eat your dinner off it and do puzzles on etc. They fold away quite nicely too and are in wood.

Some of the small tables with folding legs are not really THAT strong/stable. Maybe something a bit more like the type of table that is height adjustable (similar to the ones across the bed in hospital) might be more stable and give a bit more room for crafting.

I saw a large wooden framed tray with legs that unfolded to make into a 'bed' tray the other day. The tray also lifted to an angle to allow you to read. Problem is I can't remember which store it was.

Might have been Woolies or Wilkinsons but it was a bargain at about a fiver.

    Has anyone else seen this?
  • Ikea do a specific laptop table for just under £20. The height is adjustable and the top can be adjusted to slope. As it is a single "leg" going into three prongs you can pull it up as close as you like to the bed or a chair.

From 21/1 Lidl are doing a bedtray with the fold away legs for £2.99. I have both of these items and both serve their purpose very well.

Sainsbury's were selling these for about £10 in their 1/2price sale, not sure if they have any left though

I have seen these recently in the Betterware catalogue they might have a web site but I'm not too sure, Wilkos also sold them a while back too.

This one is better from cookshop

Link to the Lidl one, which is the best buy, http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20080121.p.Bed_Tray.ar8
