Challenge Of The Day!! Specific Camera Needed!!

My dad has asked me to look for a specific camera that he needs for work! Think he has asked me to keep mind occupied as im going into hospital for a few weeks :eek: Any, way Ive no energy at the moment and in pain, so was wondering if you kind people can help me at all.

I have quickly googled, but dont really have a clue about cameras/electronics etc, but would love to get the best price for him.

It is the Minolta Z5 (silver model-fussy git!) with the 5 year cover and shipping etc. Dont want it sent from abroad-so UK based firms only! Cheapest I have found is Pixmania at £343 inc VAT & 48hr delivery.

Is this a good price? About £50 cheaper than some other venders. Are there any vouncher codes etc for Pixmania that anyone knows of at the moment to bring cost down further?

You should note that Pixmania isn't actually UK based, but French based. However I've used them in the past and cannot really complain.

Do you really need 5 years warranty on the camera? Pixmania do two years as standard and most othe retailers will do one year.

amazon do it for 267, without the 5 years. though you might be able to buy an extended warrenty seperatly that doesn't cost as much as 80 quid?

Anyway, some nice person has given me a voucher code for Pixmania and there 5 year cover has 20% off at the moment too. So have got it down to £332 including camera, 5 year cover and next day delivery! Cheapest I have found the camera is £259 inc vat which is Bristol Cameras-thanks pin Pixmania is £265 inc vat.

gonna keep looking though :rolleyes:

Have you tried 7day shop - they sell cameras and bits (at least I'm fairly certain they do - but I'm at work and I can't check cos anything remotely shopping related is blocked) - their prices are generally really good. If my memory serves me correctly they're based in Jersey.

These are without any 5 year warranty (just standard 1 or 2 year). Pixmania seem to be the cheapest at £265 and there are various codes with them. Remember they are not UK based though.

Have you looked at purchasing the warranty through a third party? However I don't know who offers such warranty.
