Thanks for posting. Have been thinking about changing to this type. My sister has one, a Tefal, and she did say make sure you can fill it while hot as the first one she bought you had to wait for it to cool down.
Does anyone know if this Rowenta allows this?
Thanks0 -
I can confirm that you can fill it up without waiting for it to cool down we ordered ours from electrical123 good service and quick delivery. We bought it to replace this: Russell Hobbs Steam Gen 13153 we had bought two within a year and a half both of which broke within the warrenty period, fortunately we received a refund.0

Hi Too Bloo,
Thanks for clarifying that.
Could you tell us how you found the Rowenta DG9010 ?
Also, Sharon59 asked:Today 9:16 AMsharon59Does anyone have one-are they better than a normal iron-in particular are they heavier as have hand problems and not sure if they would be harder to lift.thanks
Do you think its heavier than a standard iron or about the same?
Really appreciate your thoughts.

How much for an iron???????????:D:D:DGreen and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!0

I'd be interested to see how many other people have had problems with their steam generated irons.
I've also had three gone wrong, 2 inside the warranty and 1 just outside. My latest the Phillips GC8261 @ £149.00 has gone faulty within 10 months and I've just replaced it.
I'm not sure about the Rowenta Spec and I know mine is a lot more expensive but I bought it because it has a button where you can turn the steam on and off rather than having to constantly push it down ( which every other model tends to do - and I ended up with blisters on my thumb)
Regarding the weight I'd say most are heavier to carry ( to your ironing board) but once you are ironing the iron itself is either lighter or about the same.
I would suggest if anyone is buying one of these irons that you go for a model with a 2 year guarantee rather than 12 months.Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
I got my wife a DG7140 last year for £87.50 and it's great and it's not heavy (she has RSI).
Spec seems virtually identical so I dare say more or less the same iron (newly rehoused in a white case, which see through section for the tank).
The buttons for steam are very light to operate too.The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

OK,, My iron arrived this morning and its fantastic!!!
You can top it up without haveing to remove the water container so you can wizz through your ironing without interuptions.
The steam button is located on the underside of the handel which means no pushing down and saw thumbs. So its very light and effortless when useing the steam function.
Very light to use,,, :T I highly recommend it especially at the price of £69.99http://www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk/...W-IRO-DG9010-0 or even better £67.99 @ http://www.electrical123.com/product...0-0&action=ATB0
