Good quality baking tray?

Can anyone recommend a really good quality baking tray please?  I seem to remember Saint Delia was singing the praises of one particular type but it was years ago...  I'm sick to death of those that go 'twang' and buckle as soon as you put them in the oven   >:(

Just look for the slightly thicker ones ,they need to be anodised aluminium.................it doesn't warp, robert dyas or any good cookware shop will do them and a lot cheaper than delia ;)

    Which Savacentre Sheel...White Rose?

Seem to be loads of thin bendy ones about but not so many really solid ones.....  ???

(must be better things to do at this time of the morning than think about baking trays :()

Morning Allexie, I've been using Lakeland for years for kitchen stuff they aren't cheap but the quality is fantastic and good after care, they also have shops dotted about there's one at Lakeside.

I'd second that - Lakeland is brilliant. It's at Bluewater though not at Lakeside. The one at Cambridge is a really good one too :).

The ones Delia recommended are "mermaid" brand trays. Certainly not cheap but definitely dont buckle. I bought some 5 or 6 years ago and they started at around £15 then . you can use the deeper ones for roasting meat and they can go on top of the hob for gravy making. (only done this on electric ceramic hob you understand ) They are not "non stick " but are anodised aluminium, not a lot sticks to them and they clean up easy if soaked. Not suitable for dishwasher as the aluminium discolours. They also now do a non stick coated versuion , but I havnt tried these.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. Going to have a scout around this week-end. Can't say I've ever seen 'Mermaid' brand ones but will ask around now. Also never thought of Lakeland...didn't realise they did that kind of stuff ::)

The good ones do seem quite pricey but you get what you pay for I guess.

    Thanks again

I bought the expanding baking tray from Aldi last time it was on offer. It is excellent. I expand it to fit the width of my oven. It is almost non stick. Cooks my ginger biscuits very well. Definitely worth the money.
