Auctioneer or Valuer -West Herts

Does anyone know where there is a valuer of antiques in the Watford area who can provide free valuations on possible antique items?? OH has been clearing out a relatives house and has been given a very stylish old glass plate which he is led to believe is worth a bit .

Hope someone can help , prepared to travel , even North London area .

There is an auctioneers in Tring (herts - just past Berkamstead on the A41). They have an auction bi-weekly I believe and one of those is antiques and collectables. I am not sure if they do independant valuations (you would have to ring and ask) but I took down a couple of things last year and the guy told me an approx value of these and what I should ask as a reserve as I was putting them up for auction. I did contact a couple of other antique dealers from the phone book prior to this but they all seem to specialise in very limited areas. HTH!
