The Money Shop & First Credit

Hi All
(just wrote this out once and it said that the message was too short grrr)
Ok, i am after a bit of advise
I have previously used the money Shop's 'cash before payday' service (for anyone not familiar with this, I write a cheque in their name and they give me the value of the chque mins £14 fee, they then cash it in 28 days or you can pay another £14 to delay for a further 28 days)
One of my cheques bounced and as a result i owe them £100 + £25 charge
As yet i still havn't paid this (i know it's naughty) they sent the debt to a debt company called 1st Credit who called me at work about this on 6th December.
I gave the debt company my new address as i had since moved house, I said that i would make a token payment within the next couple of weeks providing that i receive written confirmation of the debt.
As of today, this had never arrived so i called them as i was anxious about a default - they have advised me that the money shop have taken back the debt and that it is no longer with them.
I don't think that the money shop would be kind enough to have written off the debt but then again i don't know - should i contact them or not?? they have contact numbers for me and have not been in contact for some time now.
Can anyone please give me some advise on what to do next please.
Thanks
Donna

Hiya. I'm pretty sure they wont have written it off, they're not generally known for their charitable behaviour!

If you are wanting to get it sorted out and paid off, then personally I would contact them, although I don't know if that's the right advice or not. But I would be worried about more interest/charges being added, so I would want to find out what's going on.
The call from 1st Credit sounds VERY odd though, and I think you were right to be cautious about paying them anything."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
