I'm after a food processor to make my own....

Think we need to invest in a food processor as have decided to make all our own cakes, pastry and anything else with eggs in after watching Jamie's Fowl Dinners and realising that even though I only ever buy free range eggs and chicken that all this other stuff I buy probably contains caged bird products.
Also NEVER EVER gonna eat hot dog again, just checked the tin I have in the cupboard and it contains 56% Mechanically Recovered Chicken. YUCK! Shame as I do like a chilli dog every now and again....
Any tips or offers please folks - thanks

I think if we knew exactly what goes into food, we would all prepare meals at home entirely from scratch. You hear so many stories from people who work in the food processing industry that it makes you want to stop eating altogether.
Maybe we should have another thread about what the food processing industry doesn't want you to know!:hello:  please play nicely children !0 -
Have a look on the old style board it might help you.
Personally if its just a processor you want i love the magimix (although pricey). If you want something that does more just a mixer - i highly recommend the kenwood chef.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Yipes I've just looked for a Kenwood Chef and it's about £200! I was looking for something under £75comping since august 2007, wins so far.....none! :rotfl:0 -
My sister makes loads of cakes (cake decorator) and uses a kenwood chef even a full bowl of fruit cake mix it goes through like nothing. She also makes pastry in there but she did used to work in a pie shop too.0

I have gone for a Kenwood FP108 - it was a bargain at £22.41 delivered from Amazon.
If what i make turns out to be any good I will look to upgrade when I wear this one out.;)

Snap! I too fancy a food processor but am really confused by the huge variation in price. In the Argos catalogue they range from £25-£155. What can the £155 one do that the £25 can't?
Hope that use up the tin that's left in your cupboard before you start your vow to not eat hot dogs ever again! I hate to see good food go to waste (even if it is 56% MRM - OK, so the term "good food" probably doesn't apply here!)Extra Payment Every Week Challenge:
Week 1: £29.68
Week 2: £14.95
Week 3: £5.050
