  • Absolutely ridiculous but I suppose we shouldn't be surprised. Somehow I doubt that these things really cause offence to most Muslims - much like I doubt very much that nativity plays offend Muslims (which is the claim which resulted in so many being pulled) as long as they are not forced to watch them or perform in them.

If we were talking about forcing people to eat pig products when it is against their beliefs, that would obviously be wrong. But to say nothing that looks like a pig should be visible is ridiculous. Are we going to exclude pigs from farms and TV shows now in case they offend someone?
  • It is against my beliefs to eat humans. Perhaps the council could ban dolls, figurines, action men (and council staff), posters and photos in order not to offend me.;)

It is also against my beliefs to eat plasterboard, bricks, concrete etc. Perhaps we could have council buildings removed too! :D

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

I was going to quote that bit this morning but then decided the whole story was enough of a joke already, even without me trying to get a gag out of their wording!;)

I actually gave some of these stress pigs to some council staff (not the same council) when I got them in July. A visiting council employee had spotted one I had and asked if she could have it and then came back for more for her colleagues. I'll try and check tomorrow whether they still have them in their office. If so, I'll send them the article and see if they panic and get rid of the pigs.
  • Rizla, it looks like you and I are the only people on here who find Dudley council's actions to be crazy.

BTW I checked with our council (I won't mention which council they are in case anyone tries to get the pigs banned there as well). They still have the stress pigs I gave them on some of their desks. They were horrified at what Dudley have done and how ridiculous the article is. They're going to keep quiet and hope nothing similar happens to them.
