Yescarhire is always one of the cheapest for allinclusive car hire. They usually use Alamo but if prefer a bigger company Holidayautos will pricematch.
CHEAP IN COST NOT IN STYLE...

I can highly recommend Yes car hire, I have used them 4 time for car hire in California without any problems. They even managed to arrange a car hire on a UK bank holiday for me with only 12 hours notice! Sorry no discount vouchers though!

    ... I always use http://www.airline-network.co.uk/

I have compared Expedia, last minute and most hire firms direct, etc and Airline N. seem the best. They are cheap, you can pick the cars up at either the airport in Las Vegas or nearly ALL of the hotels (and in most other places in Cali). They offer good value insurance and it is easy as pie to book through them.

One thing: pick the upgrade for the tank of gas. It is well worth the extra few quid. Anything you forgo now (extra insurance, etc) and get later on will cost you more (I found out last year when I booked another day and had to pay twice as much for the same vehicle direct with the renters)

I have rented Jeeps from them and always been VERY impressed. Don't get a convertable unless you want sunburn (if renting in Vegas), because the temp. will destroy you. Even in a Jeep with full aircon I almost died :)
