Tesco extra have the HP 1215 at £69.99.

Staples also have it for the same price.

    Amazon have it for £64.99

Its an all in one printer, copier, scanner and is supposed to be the most compact around - but had got really good reviews.

A manager at Staples told me that although it's not sold as a photo printer - the print is of that quality.

The cartridges are a little more expensive than some, but are refillable so cheaper in the long run. I refill my Lexmark cartridges without any problems.

Had my canon s330 photo for a while now, was about £70, and got best reviews in which? when i bought it, for photos, in the lower price range. Been thoroughly happy with it, think the i455 (??) replaced it. cartridges don't hold as much as the hp's, but stackes cheaper.

  • Shadow,

My best buy is  the Epson 300, usually £130, But £95 from Comet website delivered.
Besides excellent photos, It has the advantage, of being able to print DIRECTLY onto CDs
( just pop cd in a slide out drawer.)
Reviewed Here . Compatible cartridge sets can cost less than £15, each colour is in separate tank, like Canon, so you only need to replace colour that has run out.

Less Expensive to buy, but dearer to run, ( as HP has copyright on cartridges, like Lexmark, and so only slightly cheaper sources are effectively "recycled" and so second hand, used at least once, so best to fill your own!!!!)

Is HP 5150,   Computer Shopper 2004 award Printer
cheapest delivered,  Pixmania, £50 + Del.

    £69.50 at Amazon

  • Best photo printer by far is the Canon i865 - it has separate ink tanks and also comes complete with an attachment to print directly onto printable cd/dvd's.

Priced at around £115 (try pricerunner).  After that the HP5150 is pretty good (i bought one of these on offer from Office World 3 months ago for £59-95 but I think they are generally £70 - £80).

Both these printers are reccomended by a number of computer mags as having low printing costs and very high quality printing, with the Canon being the better of the two but obviously dearer.

Canon Ink appears to be a lot cheaper than HP so if you do a lot of printing the Canon could be the one for you ;)

Perfect choice ... after lots of research I made the same. I was absolutely gobsmacked by the photo print quality on the R300. It is very well put together at an amazing price.
