helping my income

Happy new year to you all,

Having had so much help from you lovely folks last year with my daughters finances, debts and bugeting can I ask for some more help.

Hugs to Pania by the way!!!!

In order to be able to help support our daughter and grand daughter, I could afford to invest something like a £1000 or so in goods or stock in order to sell the items and generate some income.

Ideally it would be something that "E" could do herself with some help from us.

We could all wander the shops to hunt out the "real" bargains and sell them on ebay, but feel it may be less labour intensive if I/we were to purchase the "stock" in bulk.

Has anyone got any idears/contact numbers / or advise on any way to generate some extra income

Many thanks

Steve

  • If you have an idea for something to sell on eBay - my major advice would be to do your research first. You can search on eBay for similar items, and watch them to see how they go, and also search ended listings to see how much sold.
So many people don't do this - and then are stuck with a load of stock they can't shift.
As for ideas - if I had a sure fire one I'd be there selling right now!
    Best of luck.
  • Ideas anyone!!!!

Sorry no ideas with regards to stock.
However I am a firm beleiver in education maybe the money could some how be invested into improving your daughters qualifications ( sorry if this is out of turn?) thus allowing her in the long term to earn more money...
    Good luck.
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!
  • Yes, point taken this may help in the long term.

But, she has a statement of special educational needs.

Although, she has a diploma in animal care.

Her last job was as assistant manager in a worlds books shop.

(not chairman of ici or virgin I know)

She is single mum to her three year old.

And In my opinion, working for oneself and learning how to earn a living IS "education"

I could possibly lead to her running her own buisness.

    Any more ideas anyone

sorry didnt mean to come across as at all bossy or judgemental it really was not my intention, just been there and done that and trying to offer my point of view.
I do agree that ones own business is a good idea.
If she has been a bookshop manager before maybe an online amazon re-sale book business? Buying up books from charity shops, placing ads in the paper for books wanted? Then re-selling.

I dont know what her situation is but how about child minding as a business there are now grants avalible with start up costs ( thats probably a silly idea, right?)

Small animal care, how about some kind of pet hotel business?

    Good luck.
