memory bits

Don't know if I'm posting in the right place and this is the first time I have started a new thread, so please bear with me.
Can I just say how brilliant MSE is and after finding it by accident looking for help with exchange rates I am now hooked.
Anyway my problem is that I ordered a mains charger (not too expensive but still) for an ipod from memory bits and they sent me an in-car charger instead. Invoice states mains obviously their mistake. I emailed them to ask what to do. They said to send it back (at my own expense) and they would send the correct item. I replied stating that charger was for a gift and could they post first and I would return other.
Response was no they must receive their item first.
I have replied stating that as it was their error I felt they should send my correct item immediately (should also probably have requested postage paid return envelope ). No response yet, but it is the weekend. Can anyone give me some advice?

Sorry - but think you'll have to go along with them, it's fairly standard procedure. But they should refund your postage.
Had a similar problem (very reputable internet firm) with a £100 extractor fan - that should have had a timer, but didn't. To be fair they did arrange collection the same day - but I had to wait over a week to get a replacement that I needed urgently. Happens from time to time, I'm afraid. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
