These Lowell Portfolio Letters

Like other people here, I received a Lowell Portfolio letter yesterday asking me to confirm if I stayed at a particular address and if I did not confirm they would assume I actually had stayed there.

I have no intention of responding to them at the present time as their methods look dubious but I was wondering what's the chances of them following up their original letter and what action they could take?

It appears that they are fishing for information and anyone who responds will most certainly receive a followup.

From what I have been reading since I got the same letter as you, is tha lowells bought a shedload of old statute barred debts from Barclaycard.

I imagine all they got was a database of info, and no paperwork to back them up, so any request for documentation will be a waste of time.

Dont worry about any letters unless they give you something more concrete to go on, and most of all dont talk to them on the phone!!!

I feel sorry for the ones that dont have internet access and will phone these clowns up and be scared into paying.
