Cleaning canvas pictures

Options
I have a set of three large prints that live in my kitchen.
Over time, they have yelloed slightly.

Any ideas how to approach this?

  • If they are made out of canvas with wood frames, then I would wash them down with a hose - my husband is an artist and recently got back some paintings he had displayed in a gallery - they were really grubby - he hosed them down in the garden and are now perfect. Make sure you don't scrub them or use chemicals as it will effect the colour and picture. Good luck!

  • I was brutal.

    They're not framed - they're Ikea prints.

I used diluted washing up liquid and a microfibre cloth - not so good.
Then, randomly, carpet cleaner - that did it!

  • A well done! Glad they cleaned up! It's amazing how they can discolour over time.
