confused about tax self assessment

Hi, i started doing mystery shopping last April as well as my part time job, informed the tax office about this extra income. When do i have to fill my self assessment form in for tax as not received notice from the tax office regarding dates, and do they write and inform me when it will be due, many thanks.

If you started after 6th April 2007 then you won't get a paper self-assessment tax return to complete until April or May 2008.

It will then have to be returned by 31st October 2008. From what we have been told it's possible that HMRC will not accept paper returns after that date and will expect everyone, who hasn't already filed, to file online between 1st November 2008 and 31st January 2009.

If you started before 6th April 2007 then you have until 31st January 2007 to get your tax return. It's too late to register to file online now so get down to your local HMRC office and pick up a form otherwise you can download the forms and guides from the HMRC website HERE - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/sa/forms/net-06-07.htm
