How do I get my pictures?

Hi everyone

Hoping that someone may be able to give me some advice.

A little while ago I bought a £25 voucher for Venture photographers. This voucher was for a family photographic session and one small photograph or £75 discount of a larger one. The family went along for our session and had a great time. I knew that the photos would be expensive and budgeted about £600 hoping for about 4 pictures. However when we went to see the pictures and were given the prices I nearly fell off my chair they were so expensive, double the prices I had anticipated.

You may say walk away which is what my o/h is saying. The problem is now that I have seen these fab pictures of my children (and they are excellent), I want them. If I go to Venture and pay the price they are asking I can see me and my o/h falling out, also if I don't get the pictures I can see me and o/h falling out. Is there a way around this?

Venture are expensive, but I know what you mean about the photos being fantastic, as we had some taken on my daughter's first birthday two years ago. They were pricey then, and I expect the prices have risen since.

Like you, I argued with my o/h about it. We eventually settled on buying an album with some of the photos in it. Luckily for us, my FIL had just finished doing some work on very old photos he had, which involved lighting them in a special way that allowed him to take photos of them so that he could then use them for slides, enlargements, etc. The upshot is, FIL took our Venture album away, did all of his lighting, etc, and took photos of them all for us. His photos looked just like the originals, only we were able to take them and enlarge them, frame them, make copies for friends and family, etc. Perhaps you could see if you can find someone to do the same for you?

Alternatively, perhaps you could ask Venture if they could provide you with some photos without frames? Doubt they would do it, but you never know until you ask. I hope that you manage to sort things out, good luck!

Thanks for the info Frogling. I'm don't ask hubby for much and I know that these pics are way over priced but I think he's going to have to give a little on this one. Your suggestion of getting the album may be the way forward, although I will try to get some without frames first, but I agree with you I don't think Venture will go for it.
