peppered ham recipe

anyone know have a recipe for this. we sometimes buy a few slices as a treat as it's dear and we have raw gammons in the freezer and have just come up with the brainwave:rolleyes: that it would be good to try and cook a homemade equivalent. anyone know how to do it?

  • I would boil/roast in the usual way. Slice off the skin, leaving a layer of fat and then roll that in crushed peppercorns.

    The trick will be in getting the pepper to stick to the ham. But, of course, you can always add pepper when it's on the plate.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
